  • Ready. Set. Read! Tutors
The United Way of Berks County provides Ready. Set. Read! tutors to мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø and other area school districts. The tutors visit our elementary schools to help students practice reading skills. To volunteer, visit www.readysetreadberks.org for more information.

    RHS Hallway Helpers

Community engagement is a key component to a well-rounded education. And by volunteering at Reading High School, you will provide our students with another positive adult contact. Volunteers are needed to serve as Hallway Helpers to engage with students in a positive way Monday through Friday 9 AM - 2 PM.  If you are friendly and able to engage in conversations with young people, this is the role for you. Volunteers will not be asked to engage in discipline but instead will connect in positive ways with students. You may select the day and time. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is a plus, but not required. Click for more

    Reading High School Career Program
A robust program that provides internships, paid employment, and job shadowing opportunities for Reading High School students. This program is run in partnership with Gage Personnel. If you are a business looking to host a Reading High School student, contact Luz Almonte at luz@gagepersonnel.com or Kathleen Creelman at creelmak@readingsd.org

    College Scholarships
You can start a scholarship fund, in any amount, for graduating seniors. You determine the scholarship criteria and can also select the recipient annually. For more information. For more information, contact Joy Jablonski in the Reading High School principal's office.

    Operation Replay
The Reading Musical Foundation's Operation Replay, sponsored by Zeswitz Music Company, provides used instruments to financially disadvantaged students who would like to participate in a community or school music program. Instrument donations are tax deductible and a wonderful way to provide a deserving child with an opportunity to make great music. All string, brass, woodwind and percussion instruments are welcome. Keyboards are also welcome, but we are unable to accept pianos or organs. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Keri Shultz, Reading Musical Foundation President, at 610-376-3395 or kshultz@readingmusicalfoundation.org.

    Foster Grandparents
Perfect for retired seniors, this program is offered through Alvenia University. Foster Grandparents work largely with our elementary schools. For more information, call 610-790-2884.
